What is the Right Intensity for Your Skin Tone?

IPL technology works by emitting light pulses that are absorbed by the melanin in the hair, interrupting its growth. To achieve the best results and ensure full safety, it’s essential to choose the correct intensity based on your skin tone.

White

Beige

Sensitive to the sun, can get slightly tanned, but burns easily - Level 4-5

Light Brown

Tans gradually and burns little - Level 3-4

Medium Brown

Tans easily and almost never burns - Level 2-3

Dark Brown

Naturally tanned, rarely burns - Level 1-2

Very Dark Brown / Black

Very Dark Tones - ❌ Not recommended for this skin tone

How to Choose the Right Intensity?

Our IPL device has different intensity levels to adapt to each skin type.

⚠ Important: If you’re unsure about your skin tone, always start at the lowest level and gradually increase it, paying attention to how your skin reacts.

⚠ IPL and Very Dark Skin Tones

The IPL may not be safe for very dark skin tones because the technology relies on the contrast between hair and skin for proper functioning. Since dark skin contains more melanin, there is a risk of burns or hyperpigmentation.
